Montgomery Bicycle Club’s Selma 55 bicycle ride will commemorate the 55th anniversary of the voters rights marches during the civil rights movement of the 1960’s.
The ride will begin at the Alabama State Capitol in Montgomery to Selma. They will be riding along the same route that marchers for voting rights used to get to the state capitol where Martin Luther King, Jr. argued for equal rights during segregation.
The route spans 51 miles and will take riders throughout various sites important to the civil rights movement, including Edmund Pettus Bridge.
