Photographic Nights of Selma Photography Festival

Saturday, October 24th from 10:00 am- 9:00 pm

Sunday, October 25th from 10:00 am-11:00 am

Photographic Nights of Selma, an international photography festival, begins Saturday October 24th, in downtown Selma, Alabama, featuring presentations and exhibits beginning at 10 am CST, and concluding with a grand finale digital screening at 7 pm. Sunday morning at 10 am you can join us live or virtually for the Q&A with international photographer. You can get intimate with photography at a safe distance or join us virtually!

This inaugural festival features Jerry Siegel, Selma native and the guest of honor, along with other incredible photographic talent from around the globe that you can preview here. Make plans now to join us! You can meet photographers, explore exhibits, enjoy presentations by artists, tour Selma and more! Check out the schedule here. The festival concludes with an evening presentation of work by all of the festival photographers on a giant screen in the courtyard of Arts Revive and live on Facebook. After you enjoy the screening, you get to cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award.

Photographic Nights of Selma has been designed to allow you to be distanced from other mask wearing photography fans with multiple locations to explore and lots of space. For lunch you can purchase an individually packaged meal from a food truck. On the evening of Saturday, the 24th, bring your lawn chair and picnic to watch the moon rise over the river and enjoy the first edition screening. The international photographers will be virtually joining us on the morning of Sunday the 25th to allow you to ask them questions about their art before the jury announces the festival prize winners.

We will be live on Facebook for all of the festival events, so follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and learn more at Photographic Nights of Selma. Make sure and tell your friends about this inaugural event that is bringing people together to share in the art of photography, and to bridge new understandings about each other, and our world, in a place known for crossing boundaries to march forward to a bright future.

Photographic Nights of Selma is made possible thanks to the support of Arts Revive and the Alabama State Council on the Arts. Extra special thanks to social justice leaders Joanne Bland of Selma, and Stephane Kossman of France, the visionaries who founded this festival.
