Events give communities life. They bring in new dollars and recirculate those already in our community. They reconnect old friends and introduce us to some that are totally new. Thriving community-wide events are a critical element of thriving towns. The Selma and Dallas County Chamber of Commerce seeks to help you help your next event thrive.

If you are connected with one of our community’s stellar annual events, we want to encourage you to set your 2018 date NOW, if you haven’t already done so. The Alabama Department of Tourism is soliciting 2018 events for printing in their 2018 state visitor guide and to be housed online. All events should be submitted through their online portal, and the digital listing may be updated, amended, or added to as necessary anytime leading up to the event. In order to get 2018 events in the print version (available by request, in every state welcome center, and in hotel rooms and rental cars across the state – generating THOUSANDS of FREE impressions for your event), we must get the date of your event and some basic info to the State Department of Tourism NO LATER THAN June 30, 2017.

If online portals and digital listings feel a little daunting, don’t worry. That is what we are here for at the Chamber. Just give me a call at 334.875.7241 and I can walk you through the process, or if you would like to e-mail me the required information at (Event date, time, location, description, cost, and your contact number – also if applicable – the event’s website, link to purchase tickets, and some high-quality imagery illustrating the event), I will be happy to complete the form for you. I am also glad to sit down with anyone interested to walk them through the process. Just give us a call, send me an e-mail, or stop by our office at 912 Selma Avenue. We are grateful to be able to connect our amazing local events with the many promotional resources of Alabama’s Department of Tourism.
