Communities of Transformation (COT) is an innovative ministry that partners low-income families with community volunteers. Through COT, intentional and often unlikely friendships are developed, bridging the socioeconomic, cultural, and racial gaps that often divide us. Participants enter a safe and nurturing atmosphere filled with hope where they can dream about a more stable future for themselves, develop clear goals and a pathway to a better place. The participants are not the only ones experiencing transformation! COT volunteers also report dramatic change, growing out of the new friendships that have been formed.
You can learn more by joining us for a Taste and See event on Monday, August 28th from 5:30-8:00 PM at Barrett Road United Methodist Church, 615 Barrett Road, Selma, AL. We will have dinner and a simulated COT meeting so that you can experience Communities of Transformation. Child care will be provided. We need new participants and volunteers. To learn more, you can call 327-9967.
