Are you missing the Battle of Selma Reenactment this weekend? If so, why not come to a memorial service for the men that died while being held captive at Cahawba during the Civil War? You are invited! We will have Battle of Selma reenactors and canon. You'll even get to hear brief messages left behind by a few of the men who died here during that war. A female reenactor will read an actual letter from a women who nursed both Union and Confederates in the Cahawba hospital. A wreath will be placed on the grave of an unknown soldier and taps will be played. The talented Christine Weerts and Linda Hogue will present a Civil War era hymn, which will be an enjoyable highlight of the ceremony. Please take a few minutes out of your Saturday to join us as we honor these soldiers. The ceremony will start at 2 pm so come 15 to 30 minutes before to get situated. This Saturday, April 22nd, 2017 at 2 pm.
